Huawei Watch 5 Straps — What Fits
The Huawei Watch 5, released in 2025, uses Huawei's standard quick-release lugs in one of two widths depending on case size. The 46mm Watch 5 takes a 22mm quick-release strap, while the 42mm Watch 5 takes an 18mm strap instead, in line with the small-case width Huawei introduced in 2023.
Every strap here uses a spring-bar quick release, so no tools are needed: a small lever on the underside of the strap retracts the bar, letting the old strap lift out and the new one click into the same lug holes.
Buying straps separately also means you aren't limited to the color your watch shipped with — you can match a strap to an outfit, rotate styles through the week, or keep a dedicated strap just for workouts.

Strap Styles for the Watch 5
Which styles are available depends on your case size, though every style uses the same quick-release fitting once it's on the watch.
For the 46mm Case (22mm)
The 46mm Watch 5 has all six styles available: Mavric braided loop, Solin magnetic milanese, Véllo nylon loop, Vornis silicone sport, Rovan magnetic loop and Voren nylon loop. None of these materials stretch or crease with regular wear, so they hold their shape over months of daily use.
For the 42mm Case (18mm)
The 42mm Watch 5 currently comes in the Rovan magnetic loop style only at 18mm — a soft mesh strap with a magnetic closure that adjusts instantly to your wrist. It's a versatile, low-profile choice that works equally well for workouts, sleep tracking or the office.
Matching the Style to Your Day
Vornis silicone sport suits workouts and sweat best. Solin magnetic milanese or Rovan magnetic loop dress the watch up for the office, while the Véllo or Voren nylon loop keeps things light for all-day and overnight wear. If you're choosing between the 46mm and 42mm Watch 5, remember the full style range is only available on the larger case.
Swapping Your Watch 5 Strap
Fitting a new strap takes seconds and no tools, whether you're switching away from the box strap or between two quick-release styles you already own:
- Turn the watch over and find the small lever on the underside of the current strap.
- Push the lever in to retract the spring bar, then lift the strap out of the lugs.
- Align the new strap's spring bar with the same lug holes and press until it clicks.
- Tug gently on both sides to confirm the strap is fully seated before wearing it.
Caring for Your Straps
Silicone rinses clean with water and a little mild soap. Nylon loop straps should be hand washed and air dried rather than tumble dried, which wears down the hook-and-loop closure. Wipe the magnetic milanese and magnetic loop straps dry after sweat or water exposure to keep the mesh finish looking new. Store any strap you aren't currently wearing somewhere dry and out of direct light to keep colors from fading over time. Rotating between two or three straps also gives the Watch 5 a fresh look through the week and lets each one fully dry between wears.
Which Watches Don't Fit These Straps
A Huawei Watch 5 strap is built for the Watch 5's own lugs, the same lug system Huawei has used across the Watch line since 2021. A few other Huawei products, and even the other Watch 5 case size, need a different width or a different system entirely:
- Case size matters: the 42mm Watch 5 takes 18mm straps, not 20mm, even though older Huawei watches of a similar size (like the GT 2 42mm and GT 3 42mm) use 20mm. Double-check your exact case size before ordering.
- The Huawei Watch Fit line — Fit, Fit SE, Fit mini, Fit 2, Fit 3, Fit 4/4 Pro and Fit 5/5 Pro — uses a proprietary connector, not quick-release lugs, so standard straps do not fit any Watch Fit model.
- Huawei Watch D and D2 use a blood-pressure airbag cuff strap, so no standard strap fits either watch.
- The Huawei Strap series and Watch GT Cyber are not compatible with standard quick-release straps.
