The Fitbit Charge series is the best-selling fitness tracker line of the last decade, and a fresh strap is the fastest way to make yours feel new again. A quick history of the Fitbit Charge line

The Charge series is Fitbit's longest-running fitness tracker line, and each generation changed what a Fitbit on your wrist could actually do. The Charge 3 kept things simple: a grayscale touchscreen, a swim-proof case, and an SpO2 sensor for blood-oxygen trends, with GPS piggybacking off your phone rather than built in. The Charge 4, launched in 2020, was the first Charge with GPS built into the tracker itself, so runs and rides could be mapped without a phone along for the ride, plus on-wrist Spotify controls.

The Charge 5, released in 2021, was the bigger jump: Fitbit's first color AMOLED touchscreen in the Charge line, a more polished, glossy case, and health sensors that hadn't been on a Charge before: an EDA sensor for stress tracking and an ECG app for heart-rhythm checks, alongside a Daily Readiness Score for Premium members. The Charge 6, launched in late 2023, kept that AMOLED screen and sensor set, then layered in deep Google integration: Google Maps for turn-by-turn directions, YouTube Music playback control, and Google Wallet for tap-to-pay, plus a notably more accurate heart-rate sensor and the return of a physical side button.

Whichever generation is on your wrist, the tracker itself is the expensive part. The strap is what wears out, scuffs, or just stops matching your style first, and swapping it is the cheapest way to keep any of these four generations feeling current.

Why compatibility comes down to two attachment types

It comes down to the connector, not the model number. Charge 5 and Charge 6 use Fitbit's slim, infinity-style attachment, so any strap in this collection tagged for one fits the other. Charge 3 and Charge 4 use an earlier, slightly wider clip, and share straps with each other the same way, but the two connector types aren't interchangeable across groups. Materials, matched to real styles

Every material here is represented by more than one style, so you can match the strap to how you'll actually wear the tracker:

  • Silicone (Aeri Sport Loop, Kalen Silicone Sport Strap): sweat-proof, built for workouts and sleep tracking, and the easiest to rinse clean after a run.

Sizing and fit

Charge straps come in small and large lengths. Measure your wrist, or lay your current strap flat against a ruler, before ordering: a snug-but-comfortable fit keeps the optical heart-rate sensor reading accurately whether you're working out or asleep. Too loose and the sensor can drift and misread; too tight and it's uncomfortable within an hour. Every strap above uses a simple pin-and-tuck or quick-release fitting, so swapping styles takes seconds and no tools, whichever connector type your Charge uses.
