Got a question? We are here to answer
The Grit X, Grit X Pro, Grit X2 and Grit X2 Pro all take a 22mm quick-release strap, the same width as the Vantage line. That means every generation of Polar's outdoor and adventure watch, from the original 2020 Grit X through to the X2 Pro, uses one consistent strap size.
These straps use the same spring-bar quick-release fitting as the rest of Polar's lineup — a small lever on the back of the pin lets you release the old strap and click in a new one without tools.
See the full Polar Watch Straps collection for straps that fit the Vantage, Ignite, Pacer and Unite as well.
A stock strap eventually wears at the spring-bar holes from trail use, and third-party straps give Grit X owners more style choice than the handful of options that ship with the watch.
The Grit X line is built for outdoor use, so a lot of owners look for straps that can handle trail dust, sweat and the occasional soaking.
Owners who spend most of the week outdoors typically keep one rugged strap for the trail and a dressier second option for town, so they're not stuck wearing muddy gear to dinner.
Turn the watch over and locate the spring bar behind the current strap. Push its small lever inward to release one side, then slide the strap free. Press the new strap's spring bar into the lugs until it clicks into place on both sides.
The change takes under a minute and doesn't need tools, so you can swap straps between a hike and an evening out without any hassle.
First-time swaps are easiest with the watch resting face-down on a soft surface. If you're ever unsure which width to order, measure the gap between the lugs on the back of the case rather than guessing.
Rinse silicone and nylon straps under fresh water after a trail run or hike to clear out dust and sweat, then let them dry fully before reattaching. Magnetic milanese and magnetic loop straps should be wiped dry instead of rinsed, since standing water can sit inside the mesh.
Store any strap you're not wearing flat and out of direct sunlight, since prolonged heat can dry out silicone and dull a milanese finish over time. Rotating between two straps also gives each one time to dry out fully between wears.
These 22mm straps are sized for the Grit X family specifically, so double-check your model before ordering if you own more than one Polar watch. A few other Polar watches need a different fit:
