Garmin QuickFit 22 Straps — What Fits

QuickFit is Garmin's own quick-release system: a rotating cam built into the strap clips onto a matching bar on the watch case, so straps come off and on with a flip of a lever — no spring-bar tool needed, and no case-back access either.

QuickFit comes in two sizes, and 22 is the size used on Garmin's standard and mid-size watches — see the family list below.

QuickFit is a Garmin-specific clip mechanism rather than a universal spring-bar fitting, so unlike our standard quick release watch straps, QuickFit 22 straps are built to fit Garmin's QuickFit-equipped watches specifically, not classic mechanical or quartz watches with a 22mm lug gap.

If you're not sure whether your Garmin watch uses QuickFit at all, check the underside of your current strap for a small lever near the case — QuickFit connectors have one built into the strap itself, while standard spring-bar straps hide their lever inside the bar between the lugs instead. Garmin also states the connector type directly in each watch's owner's manual and product spec page, which is worth checking if the strap on your wrist doesn't make it obvious.

QuickFit 22 fits the following Garmin lines — check your exact model's spec sheet if you're unsure which size your watch takes:

• fēnix 5, 6, 7 and 8 in the 47mm case size — Garmin's flagship multisport line.
• Epix, across its QuickFit-equipped generations — the AMOLED-screen sibling to fēnix.
• Instinct, in its standard case sizes — Garmin's rugged, budget-friendly outdoor line.
• Forerunner 9xx series (945, 955, 965, 970 and similar) — Garmin's running-focused watches.
• Approach S60, S62 and S70 in the 47mm case — Garmin's golf GPS watches.
• D2 aviator watches — Garmin's pilot-focused line.
• Descent G1 and G2 dive computers.
• MARQ — Garmin's premium, limited-production line.

QuickFit vs Standard Quick Release

It's easy to assume QuickFit is just Garmin's name for a standard quick-release strap, but the two systems aren't interchangeable.

• Standard quick release: a spring bar with a lever hidden inside the bar; used industry-wide, including on classic mechanical and quartz watches.
• QuickFit: a rotating cam built into the strap itself, with the lever on the strap rather than the bar; unique to Garmin and only found on Garmin's QuickFit-labeled watches.
• A QuickFit-equipped Garmin watch can only take QuickFit straps in the matching size, 22 or 26 — a standard 22mm spring-bar strap will not fit the case's connector, even though the numbers match.
• Garmin watches without QuickFit take standard spring-bar straps instead, in whatever width that specific model uses.

The QuickFit Strap for This Size: Teral Nylon Loop

Teral nylon loop is our QuickFit strap, built with the rotating-cam connector in place of a spring bar. It's a soft, breathable woven nylon loop — lightweight enough for sleep tracking, durable enough for daily wear — and it's currently the only QuickFit-specific style we carry, offered in both the 22 and 26 sizes.

It's currently the only QuickFit style we carry, so if you're looking for a silicone sport or magnetic milanese equivalent in QuickFit, that's not yet available — Teral nylon loop is the one option, in both sizes.

Swapping a QuickFit 22 Strap

Find the small lever on the underside of the QuickFit connector, flip it out, and the strap's cam rotates open so it lifts off the bar entirely — no spring-bar pins to line up. To attach a new strap, hook the connector's open end onto the bar and rotate the lever closed until it sits flat against the case.

Because the whole assembly is a single clip rather than a spring bar and separate strap, swaps are typically quicker than standard quick-release straps and don't require pressing anything into a tight lug gap.

It's worth practicing the motion once on a watch you're not wearing, since the cam mechanism moves a little differently from a spring bar the first few times you use it.

Caring for the Teral Nylon Loop

Hand-wash with mild soap and water, then lay flat to dry rather than wringing it out. This keeps the weave from stretching out of shape and protects the QuickFit connector's rotating mechanism from soap buildup.

Letting it dry fully before wearing it again also helps avoid trapping moisture against the QuickFit connector's moving parts.

Which Watches Don't Fit QuickFit 22

QuickFit isn't universal across Garmin's own lineup, so check your model carefully:

• fēnix 5X/6X/7X/8X and other 51mm-and-up fēnix models use the larger QuickFit 26, not QuickFit 22.
• Tactix, Descent Mk, Enduro and D2 Delta PX use QuickFit 26 as well — see our QuickFit 26 straps page for those.
• Garmin watches without QuickFit — most Vívoactive, Vívomove and Venu models, along with older Forerunner watches below the 9xx series — use standard spring-bar quick release instead; see our quick release watch straps for those.
• Because QuickFit is a proprietary clip rather than a spring bar, classic mechanical or quartz watches don't fit QuickFit 22 straps even if their lug gap happens to measure 22mm.
• Older Garmin watches from before QuickFit existed — early fēnix and Forerunner generations among them — use standard spring-bar straps in whatever width that specific model was built with, not QuickFit at all.
• If your watch's manual doesn't mention QuickFit by name, it likely uses a standard strap system instead — check the model-specific spec sheet rather than assuming based on case size alone.
