Withings Steel HR Bands — What Fits

Steel HR is Withings' original hybrid design: an analog watch face with a small activity display and heart-rate sensor built in, now spanning several case sizes across Steel HR, the simpler Steel, and the fitness-focused Move. Every model attaches its strap with a standard spring bar, so any Withings Steel HR band on this page swaps in without tools.

The 40mm Steel HR and Steel HR Sport take a 20mm band. The 36mm Steel HR, the 36mm Steel, and the 38mm Move all take 18mm instead. Check the case diameter in the Withings app or on the original box if you're unsure which size you own — this line has more case-size variety than any other Withings family. For ScanWatch, ScanWatch Light or Nova, see the Withings Watch Bands hub.

Which Band Style Suits Steel HR

Steel HR set the template for Withings' classic-analog-plus-tracker look, so a band that keeps that heritage-watch feel tends to suit it better than a sport look. All six styles fit the 20mm case size; the 18mm size currently has one style available.

Office and Everyday Elegance

The Solin magnetic milanese mesh and the Rovan magnetic loop suit Steel HR's classic dial best, closing with a concealed magnet rather than a buckle. On the 36mm/38mm cases, Rovan is the only style currently stocked — a fitting match for Steel, Move and the smaller Steel HR, all of which already lean toward a simpler, dressier look.

Sport and Everyday Wear

On the 40mm Steel HR Sport and Steel HR, the Mavric braided loop and Vornis silicone sport band suit gym use and daily wear without clashing with the analog dial.

Sleep and Overnight

Steel HR tracks sleep automatically, so the Véllo and Voren nylon loop bands, both 20mm only, are worth a look if you plan on wearing it to bed — both are light enough to forget about overnight.

Sizing and Fitting a Steel HR Band

Every band here uses the same quick-release spring bar as the strap that shipped with your Steel HR, Steel or Move. Press the small lever on the underside of the band, slide the old one out of the lugs, then slide the new band's pins in until it clicks into place on both sides — the whole swap takes under a minute with no tools beyond the band itself.

Match your case size before ordering: 20mm for the 40mm Steel HR and Steel HR Sport; 18mm for the 36mm Steel HR, Steel, and 38mm Move. A band cut for the wrong width won't seat properly in the lugs. Browse the full 20mm watch bands or 18mm watch bands ranges for more style options in either width.

Which Watches Don't Fit

Steel HR, Steel and Move all take a standard quick-release band in one of the two widths above, so there's no proprietary connector to worry about across this whole family.

The trap is width, not compatibility: because Steel HR spans more case sizes than any other Withings line, it's easy to assume every Steel HR watch shares one width. They don't — the 40mm case needs 20mm, while the 36mm Steel HR, Steel, and 38mm Move all need 18mm. If you also own a ScanWatch Nova or ScanWatch, the same case-size rule applies to those lines too, just at their own dimensions.
