Suunto Run Bands — What Fits

The Suunto Run uses a 22mm quick-release band, the same width as the Race, Vertical, 9 Peak, 5 Peak and Ocean. This 2025 running watch keeps to the same standard size as the rest of Suunto's current lineup.

The band attaches with a quick-release spring bar: press the small lever on the back of the pin, and the old band lifts free; press the new band's spring bar into the lugs until it clicks into place. No tools needed.

See the full Suunto Watch Bands collection for bands that fit the Race, Vertical, 9 Peak, 5 Peak and Ocean as well.

A stock band eventually wears at the spring-bar holes from daily mileage, and third-party bands give Run owners more style choice than the handful of options that ship with the watch. Whichever style you choose, the fit is identical, since the Run uses the same 22mm lug width as the Race, Vertical, 9 Peak, 5 Peak and Ocean.

Style Guide for the Run

Suunto built the Run specifically for runners, so a lightweight, sweat-friendly band matters more here than on some of Suunto's other watches.

Runners who train most days typically keep at least one moisture-resistant band on hand and a dressier second option for non-running days, so they're not stuck wearing gym gear to the office.

  • Vornis silicone sport band — light, sweat-resistant, and the default choice for daily mileage., holding up well through daily mileage
  • Rovan magnetic loop — a quick one-hand adjustment before or after a run., handy on race morning when every second counts
  • Mavric braided loop — a stretch-fit everyday band for wearing off the run., easy to pull on for a walk once you're off the run
  • Solin magnetic milanese — a smarter mesh look for non-running days., giving the watch a different look for evenings out
  • Véllo nylon loop — light enough for long runs and easy to sleep in for overnight recovery tracking., light enough to forget you're wearing it during a long run
  • Voren nylon loop — a woven casual alternative with a different texture., offering another everyday texture to choose from

Fitting Your Run Band

Turn the watch over, push the small lever on the spring bar behind the current band, and slide it free. Press the new band's spring bar into the lugs until it clicks on both sides.

The swap takes under a minute and needs no tools.

First-time swaps are easiest with the watch resting face-down on a soft surface. If you're ever unsure which width to order, measure the gap between the lugs on the back of the case rather than guessing.

Caring for Your Band

Rinse silicone and nylon bands after a sweaty run, then let them air dry before reattaching. Wipe magnetic milanese and magnetic loop bands dry with a cloth instead of soaking them, since water can sit between the mesh links.

Store any band you're not wearing flat and out of direct sunlight, since prolonged heat can dry out silicone and dull a milanese finish over time. Rotating between two bands also gives each one time to dry out fully between wears.

Which Watches Don't Fit These Bands

These 22mm bands are sized for the Run specifically, so double-check your model before ordering if you also own a Suunto 9 or 9 Baro. A few other Suunto watches need a different fit:

  • The plain Suunto 9 and 9 Baro use a wider 24mm band, not the 22mm width these bands are built for — that width is reserved for the 9 Peak instead. The Suunto 7 is also 24mm.
  • The original Suunto 5 uses screw-attached, model-specific straps, so it doesn't fit these bands — only the 5 Peak takes a standard 22mm quick-release band.
  • Suunto's older lines — Spartan, Ambit, Core and Traverse — use 24mm or proprietary attachments and aren't compatible with these bands.
