Got a question? We are here to answer
QuickFit is Garmin's own quick-release system: a rotating cam built into the band clips onto a matching bar on the watch case, so bands come off and on with a flip of a lever — no spring-bar tool needed, and no case-back access either.
QuickFit comes in three sizes, and 20 is the smallest — the size Garmin uses on its 40mm, 42mm and 43mm cases, the compact editions of the fēnix, Epix, Instinct, Descent, D2 and Approach lines. The full family list is below.
QuickFit is a Garmin-specific clip mechanism rather than a universal spring-bar fitting, so unlike our standard quick release watch bands, QuickFit 20 bands are built to fit Garmin's QuickFit-equipped watches specifically, not classic mechanical or quartz watches with a 20mm lug gap.
If you're not sure whether your Garmin watch uses QuickFit at all, check the underside of your current band for a small lever near the case — QuickFit connectors have one built into the band itself, while standard spring-bar bands hide their lever inside the bar between the lugs instead. Garmin also states the connector type and size directly in each watch's spec sheet, which is worth checking if the band on your wrist doesn't make it obvious.
QuickFit 20 is the small-case size, so within most Garmin families only the compact edition takes it. These are the models Garmin lists as QuickFit 20 compatible:

The three QuickFit sizes look alike but are not interchangeable — the connector width is different, so a band in the wrong size simply won't clip on. Case size is what decides it, not the generation number:
It's easy to assume QuickFit is just Garmin's name for a standard quick-release band, but the two systems aren't interchangeable.
Langford is our QuickFit 20 band — a genuine leather strap built with Garmin's rotating-cam connector in place of a spring bar, so it clips straight onto a QuickFit 20 watch with no tool. It's the dressier end of the range: leather softens the look of a rugged 42mm multisport case for office wear and evenings without needing a second watch.
It's currently the only QuickFit 20 style we carry, so if you're looking for a silicone sport, nylon loop or magnetic milanese equivalent in this connector, that's not yet available in the 20 size.
Find the small lever on the underside of the QuickFit connector, flip it out, and the band's cam rotates open so it lifts off the bar entirely — no spring-bar pins to line up. To attach a new band, hook the connector's open end onto the bar and rotate the lever closed until it sits flat against the case.
Because the whole assembly is a single clip rather than a spring bar and separate band, swaps are typically quicker than standard quick-release bands and don't require pressing anything into a tight lug gap.
It's worth practicing the motion once on a watch you're not wearing, since the cam mechanism moves a little differently from a spring bar the first few times you use it.
Wipe leather with a barely damp cloth and let it air-dry away from direct heat — no soaking, and no washing machine. Leather takes on the shape of your wrist over time, so a little stiffness at the start is normal and eases with wear.
Keeping the QuickFit connector dry matters too: let the band dry fully before clipping it back on, so moisture isn't trapped against the cam's moving parts. If you swim or shower in your watch regularly, a silicone or nylon band in your watch's connector size is the better everyday choice.
QuickFit isn't universal across Garmin's own lineup, and the 20 size is the narrowest of the three, so check your model carefully:
