Polar Pacer Bands — What Fits

This page covers the original Polar Pacer, which uses a 20mm quick-release band — the same width as the Ignite and Unite. If you own a Pacer Pro rather than the standard Pacer, check the "which watches don't fit" section below before ordering, since the Pro needs Polar's own adapter.

The standard Pacer's band attaches with a quick-release spring bar. Press the small lever on the back, slide the old band free, and click the new one into place — no tools needed.

A stock band eventually wears at the spring-bar holes from daily training, and third-party bands give Pacer owners more style choice than the handful of options that ship with the watch. Whichever style you pick, the fit is identical, since Polar has used the same 20mm lug width on the standard Pacer since it launched.

Style Guide for the Pacer

Polar built the Pacer as a lightweight running watch, so a lot of owners keep a dedicated training band alongside something more casual for the rest of the day.

Runners who train most days typically keep at least one moisture-resistant band on hand and a dressier second option for non-training days, so they're not stuck wearing gym gear to the office.

• Vornis silicone sport band — light, sweat-resistant, and the default pick for daily runs.
• Rovan magnetic loop — adjusts in an instant for a snug fit before a race and a looser one afterward.
• Mavric braided loop — a stretchy everyday band for wearing the Pacer off the track.
• Solin magnetic milanese — a fine mesh option that dresses the watch up for the office.
• Véllo nylon loop — soft and light enough for all-day wear.
• Voren nylon loop — a woven casual alternative with a slightly different texture and look.

Fitting Your Pacer Band

Turn the watch over, find the spring bar behind the current band, and push its small release lever inward. The band lifts free once the pin retracts. Line up the new band's spring bar with the lugs and press until it clicks on both sides.

The swap takes under a minute and doesn't need any tools or a trip to a watch shop.

First-time swaps are easiest with the watch resting face-down on a soft surface so you're not gripping the display. If you're ever unsure which width to order, measure the gap between the lugs on the back of the case rather than guessing.

Caring for Your Band

Rinse silicone and nylon bands after a run or a rainy training session, and let them dry before reattaching. Magnetic milanese and magnetic loop bands should be wiped dry rather than rinsed, since water can linger between the mesh links.

Store any band you're not wearing flat and out of direct sunlight, since prolonged heat can dry out silicone and dull a milanese finish over time.

Which Watches Don't Fit These Bands

These are the exceptions worth knowing before you order — the standard Pacer itself is unaffected by either exception below:

• The Pacer Pro does not fit these bands. Even though it shares the Pacer name, Polar's own manual specifies its own wristband adapter for the Pro — the same requirement as the Vantage V2 — so we do not recommend standard bands for it.
• Polar's other current watches use different widths: Vantage (M, M2, M3, V, V3) and Grit X (X, X Pro, X2, X2 Pro) take 22mm, while Ignite and Unite share the standard Pacer's 20mm width.
• Legacy Polar watches — V800, M600, M430, M400, A360, A370 and Loop — use proprietary bands and are not compatible with these bands at all.
