Got a question? We are here to answer
This page covers the Suunto 5 Peak, which uses a 22mm quick-release band — the same width as the Race, Vertical, 9 Peak, Ocean and Run. The original Suunto 5, without "Peak" in the name, is a different, older watch and is not covered here.
The 5 Peak's band uses a quick-release spring bar: a small lever on the back of the pin lets you release the old band and click a new one in without tools.
See the full Suunto Watch Bands collection for bands that fit the Race, Vertical, 9 Peak, Ocean and Run as well.
A stock band eventually wears at the spring-bar holes, and third-party bands give 5 Peak owners more style choice than the handful of options that ship with the watch. Whichever style you choose, the fit is identical, since the 5 Peak has used the same 22mm lug width since it launched.
The 5 Peak is Suunto's lighter, more compact adventure watch, so it suits both a rugged training band and something smarter for everyday wear.
Owners who train most days typically keep at least one moisture-resistant band on hand and a dressier second option for non-training days, so they're not stuck wearing gym gear to the office.
Turn the watch over, push the small lever on the spring bar behind the current band, and slide it free. Press the new band's spring bar into the lugs until it clicks on both sides.
The swap takes under a minute with no tools needed.
First-time swaps are easiest with the watch resting face-down on a soft surface. If you're ever unsure which width to order, measure the gap between the lugs on the back of the case rather than guessing.
Rinse silicone and nylon bands after a sweaty workout or a swim, then let them air dry before reattaching. Wipe magnetic milanese and magnetic loop bands dry with a cloth instead of soaking them.
Store any band you're not wearing flat and out of direct sunlight, since prolonged heat can dry out silicone and dull a milanese finish over time. Rotating between two bands also gives each one time to dry out fully between wears.
These are the exceptions worth knowing before you order — the 5 Peak itself is unaffected by either exception below:
