This page is for one watch: the Fossil Gen 6 Wellness Edition Hybrid, the 45mm e-ink model, which takes 20mm quick-release bands.

The other Gen 6 Hybrids are different widths — Neutra 44mm (22mm), Carlie 40mm (18mm), Machine 45mm (24mm).

Fossil Gen 6 Wellness Edition Hybrid Bands — What Fits

The Fossil Gen 6 Wellness Edition Hybrid is a 45mm case on 20mm lugs. Fossil publishes both figures on its own product pages — Case: 45MM, Strap: 20MM — and every band on this page is cut to that 20mm width. The model numbers are FTW7080, FTW7082 and FTW7083.

This is the hybrid with the always-on e-ink readout and real mechanical hands, not a touchscreen. If your watch has physical hands sweeping over a low-power display, you are in the right place.

Every band here is a quick-release, spring-bar design: flip the small lever on the back, slide the old band out of the lugs, and press the new one in until it clicks on both sides. No tools, about 10 seconds per side.

Because Fossil uses standard lug spacing, these bands also fit classic, non-smart Fossil watches with 20mm lugs. Back to the full Fossil watch bands range if you need a different model.

“Gen 6 Hybrid” Is a Family Name, Not a Size

This is the single most expensive mistake to make when buying for one of these watches. Fossil sold four different Gen 6 Hybrids, and they use four different band widths between them. The name on the box tells you nothing about the width on its own.

Look at the Machine and the Wellness Edition Hybrid in that list: both are 45mm, and they take different widths. Case size does not predict lug width at Fossil, in either direction. Match the model name and the width together, never one of them alone.

Not the Same Watch as the Gen 6 Wellness Edition

Fossil also sold a Gen 6 Wellness Edition without the word Hybrid — a 44mm Wear OS touchscreen, model numbers FTW4069, FTW4070 and FTW4071. Two products, almost the same name, different watches.

The useful part: that 44mm touchscreen Wellness Edition also takes a 20mm strap, so the bands on this page fit it too. They are the only two Fossil watches in this generation that share a width by coincidence rather than by family.

What they do not share is the case. If you are shopping by case size, 45mm gets you the Hybrid and 44mm gets you the touchscreen — and the rest of the touchscreen Fossil Gen 6 range is 22mm at 44mm and 18mm at 42mm, not 20mm.

Choosing a 20mm Band for the Wellness Edition Hybrid

20mm comes in silicone sport, nylon and braided loops, magnetic milanese and genuine leather, so the width does not limit your choice here.

For training and sweat

Vornis Silicone Sport is the workhorse — sweat-friendly and quick to rinse. Mavric Braided Loop is the breathable alternative if you would rather not wear silicone against the skin. Browse the wider silicone range to see the finishes.

For the office

Solin Magnetic Milanese gives the dressier mesh-metal look, with a magnetic clasp that micro-adjusts to the wrist and sits flat under a shirt cuff. Véllo Nylon Loop is the softer smart-casual middle ground. More in milanese and nylon.

For all-day and sleep tracking

Rovan Magnetic Silicone Sport is the lightest of the six, which matters if you keep the watch on overnight for sleep tracking. Voren Nylon Loop is the soft everyday alternative.

Confirming Your Width Before You Order

Check which watch you actually own

The Wellness Edition Hybrid is 45mm with an e-ink display and mechanical hands. If the display is a full colour touchscreen, you have a Wear OS model instead. If the case is 44mm or 40mm, you have the Neutra or the Carlie, not this watch.

Read the width off the old band

Fossil usually stamps the width in millimetres on the underside of its own straps, near the buckle. That stamp beats any sizing chart, including ours.

Measure the lug gap

With the band off, measure the gap between the two lugs with a ruler or calipers. A Wellness Edition Hybrid measures 20mm across that gap. Widths in this lineup are whole millimetres, so there is no in-between size to worry about. For the full width, see all our 20mm quick-release bands.

Which Watches These Bands Do Not Fit

The other three Gen 6 Hybrids

A 20mm band will not seat in the Neutra's 22mm lugs, the Machine's 24mm lugs or the Carlie's 18mm lugs. Too narrow and the band rattles side to side with the spring bar barely engaged; too wide and it will not go in at all. There is no adapter for this and we do not recommend forcing one.

The touchscreen Gen 6 and the Gen 5

The touchscreen Fossil Gen 6 44mm takes 22mm and the Gen 6 42mm takes 18mm, despite the number of sizing charts that round 42mm cases to 20mm. The Gen 5, Gen 5 LTE and Gen 5E 44mm are 22mm, and the Gen 5E 42mm is 18mm. None of those are covered by this page.

Caring for Your Band

Rinse silicone and nylon bands under water after sweaty workouts and let them air dry fully before wearing again. Wipe the magnetic milanese and magnetic silicone styles with a soft, dry cloth rather than submerging them, and keep them away from other magnetic items when they are off your wrist. Give the spring bars an occasional check to make sure they are still seated firmly in the lugs, especially if you swap bands often.
