The numbers behind the fit.

506 records. 25 brands. A closer look at the fittings in the Nothing But Bands compatibility database.

Which fittings appear in our records?

One row, one count. These percentages describe this database—not the watches people own.

Which quick-release widths are most common?

22 mm is the most common width in the standard quick-release group: 134 of 282 standard quick-release records (47.5%). Check your exact watch model before choosing a width.

Does case size tell you the fitting?

No. Among 56 smartwatch records labeled 42 mm, 7 fitting categories appear. The most common, 20 mm standard quick release, appears in 28 of those 56 records (50.0%). The case-size label alone does not identify the band fitting.

Does a family name tell you the width?

Not always. The 11 Garmin Venu records span 4 standard quick-release widths: 18 mm, 20 mm, 22 mm, 24 mm. Knowing “Venu” is not enough to select a band; the exact model matters.

Are QuickFit and quick release interchangeable at the same width?

No. Among 175 records using either standard quick release or Garmin QuickFit at 22 mm, 134 use standard quick release and 41 use QuickFit (23.4%). The same 22 mm width appears on two different attachment systems, so width alone is not a compatibility check.

How we calculate the statistics
  • Each record counts once. Aliases and reference codes do not add extra counts; some records group variants or cover other wearable devices.
  • Fitting-family shares use the full database. Quick-release width shares use only standard quick-release records, including recorded widths we do not stock.
  • QuickFit and standard quick release are separate systems. Unclassified fittings remain in “Other recorded fittings.”
  • Percentages are rounded to one decimal. These are database statistics, not market share, ownership or sales figures.
How the comparisons are grouped
  • Case-size comparisons use exact single-number millimetre case labels. Missing, rectangular and band-width labels are excluded; case labels are not assumed to be diameters. No decimal sizes are rounded into another size.
  • Distinct fittings count recorded connector categories, not mutually exclusive sets of compatible products. Standard quick-release width comparisons exclude all other connectors.
  • Named-family comparisons use brand plus the explicit model-name prefixes fenix, Forerunner, Venu, Galaxy Watch, Apple Watch and Watch GT. They are six selected families, not a percentage of all watch families; related-model links are not family assignments.
  • Same-width connector comparisons include only standard quick release and Garmin QuickFit at that width, not every connector with a number in its name.
